A couple folks even contacted us directly, pointing out that they switched to Flickr and found it much more satisfying. Others wrote in, wondering why we had two photo sharing services -- isn't one enough? By focusing on a single photo service, they reasoned, wouldn't it make life easier for us all by doing one thing (and doing it really, really well)?

Well, as you may have heard, Yahoo!7 Photos is shutting its doors soon. And in the process, we’re making it easy for people to move their pictures from photos.yahoo.com to other photo sharing sites, including Flickr. This also now includes the Flickr transition for people who use international versions of Yahoo!7 Photos (especially since we’ve also recently launched Flickr in seven languages).

If you already have a Flickr account, you know that Flickr makes it easy to manage and share your photos. It also gives you lots of ways to find and explore interesting pictures from the Flickr community. And if you prefer to share your photos only with friends and family, Flickr offers a number of privacy controls.

If you don't already have a Flickr account, now is a great time to set one up. We think the Yahoo!7 Photos users who choose Flickr are going to have fun with it (and will enjoy being part of the Flickr community). If you want to share pictures with your friends on Yahoo!7 360°, I'd recommend using Flickr. It's easy. Really easy.

If you don’t currently use Yahoo!7 Photos or Flickr, set up an account and upload photos on Flickr. For both U.S. and international Yahoo!7 Photos users, here’s how to move your photos to Flickr:

* Go to http://closing.photos.yahoo.com/au/index_intl.php
* Click “Move my photos to Flickr” (or for international users, click the “Get Started” button)
* After you receive the confirmation e-mail that your photos have been moved successfully, go to http://www.flickr.com and log in with your Yahoo!7 ID

Like Picasso with a mouse, you sat down in front of that blank screen (OK, maybe we started you with a loose template). Then you started moving this here, that there, adding this, removing that. Next thing you knew, you had your own little masterpiece. It was your corner of the Web, reflecting your personality — and what’s important to you and the people in your life.

Well, a lot has changed in your world since you first created that page. So it’s probably time to take a fresh look at your Yahoo!7 360° page — and what you’re sharing with others. Not to mention rethinking the look and feel of the page itself.

For inspiration, a great place to start is our spotlight of interesting pages on Yahoo!7 360°, a compilation of other people’s pages. You might see something you like. Also check out your friends' pages for revelations you might not have considered. Then dig in and play around with all the possibilities. (You might be surprised with all you can do.)

So consider your creative license now officially renewed. And be sure to comment here on pages you like and about tips for making your page fresh and innovative.

It will be a jam-packed, explosive double episode that will answer some questions, create new ones as well satisfying but frustrating the hell out of us!

  • Last week saw the Series 2 finale of It Takes Two, with Jolene and David winning the coveted trophy! They are still the talk of the town over on our It Takes Two Message Board!
  • July 5 saw the much anticipated final episode of the debut season of Heroes. Join in the speculation about Season 2, over here.
  • Another debut series is almost at season's end... The Ugly Betty season 1 finale will air in just a few short weeks.
  • Next week ushers in the explosive finale of Lost, Season 3! Head on over to the official Lost Message Boards and join in the discussions with other Lost fans. The finale will be a double episode too, so be sure to set your vcr's and dvd recorders!
  • Tonight is the final episode of the current season of Desperate Housewives. Stick close to your screens for what is promising to be one of the best episodes yet. Why not take your addiction one step further, and join other DH fans on the official boards.
  • In a few weeks, we will also bid farewell to Meredith, McDreamy and all our other favourites at Seattle Grace for another season. The Grey's Anatomy season 3 finale will air with all the usual suspense we have come to expect, join in the discussions on what will happen!
It is ramping up to be a very busy, nailbiting couple of weeks for us all, and being the middle of winter, perfect weather for staying indoors and watching TV!

He turns to his friend and says, "On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog."

Those of us who spend lots of time online know this rings true (even fourteen years after the cartoon was published). Many people take advantage of the anonymity the Web gives them by being a little wilder and crazier and edgier in their online interactions. Even the mildest-mannered person can turn into a big bully — or steamy seductress — when plopped in front of the keyboard.

That's not always a bad thing. My talkative side comes out when I'm chatting online with friends. I can be pretty shy in a room full of strangers, but get me in a chat room and suddenly I'm the life of the party.

Under your Basic Info Settings, you can adopt a nickname (and therefore not display your Yahoo! ID/real name to the public).

Some people get very creative with this. Your online nickname can make you sound tough, like "NAILZ74", or sweet, like "Snuggly Bunny", or approachable, like "Friend Me!" We have a lot of friends who use their pets' names in their online nicknames, and parenting communities are full of "Mum to Madison&Tyler"s. Some people change their nickname to suit their mood or commemorate a holiday. There were a ton of "Cap'n"s and "Bluebeard"s on Yahoo!7 360° last "Talk Like a Pirate Day".
