Nivea Vitality finalist
Well it is a month since we all got back from our Nivea Vitality Projects. Hard to believe how the time has flown. I keep looking at my photos to remind me of the fabulous sights Suzanne and I saw whilst in South Africa.
Just wanted to wish everyone a happy and very safe Easter. Enjoy the few days off- I am going to Sydney to visit my son Rob. Keep in touch.
Well I am now back in Adelaide trying to plough through all my unpacking and washing all the "safari dirt" out of my gear!! I hate unpacking!! It was great to catch up with Sue and Tricia in Sydney on Sunday and to hear their travel tales. I think we all had tremendous challenges on our assignments. One of mine was the unavailablity of communications in South Africa. It came as a bit of a shock not having access to the internet hence my scarce blogging whilst away. Even the internet cafes were non compliant!
Suzanne my great travel mate is still in South Africa enjoying a few days with her daughter in law and grandson. We had a great time together and we will remember our adventures and misadventures (!) for many months!! We saw some wonderful sights and animals and I will post some photos on the blog later when I am a bit more organised and down to earth!
THANK YOU TO NIVEA, CHANNEL 7,NEW IDEA AND ESPECIALLY LEILA FROM OMD FOR THE WONDERFUL SUPPORT TO ALL OF US ON OUR AMAZING ADVENTURES.
Hi Everyone,
Wehave just spent a week at Karongwe Private game Reserve attending a Eco Training course with 15 other students from around the world. Very busy days strting at 0500 and ending after a late dinner post game drives. We are back civilisation for the weekend for R & R at a guest house. Hence our chance to get on a computer. Wehaven't seen much of the countryside but we are planning to hire a car tomorrow to drive to the Drakensberg Mountains. This is our first weekend free and we are really enjoying it. there is so much to see but our time is very limited because of our isolation. Pity!!!!!!!!
HOWZIT!!!! From South Africa.
Believe it or not Suzanne hasn't murdered me yet. We are getting on extremely well. We have had to laugh on many an occasion. Our alcohol comsumption has been increased since we have been on safari. Suzanne is really bad and has had a litre of Oozo with warm coke but I have only had a litre of Gin with warm tonic. We have been camping and having lots of fun. Seeing lots of animals - a herd of over 200 buffalo yesterday. We are in Hoedspruit today and heading for another Eco training camp - no frills we are tough gels!!! Today we got out of our khakis and donned another colour but tomorrow its back to khaki!!! ALL A LOT OF FUN. Min temp has been 39 degrees at night so we sleep in the nuddy with a wet towel over us under the mossie nets under the African stars listening to the hyaenas. We tracked a pride of 9 lions on foot _DEFINITELY NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED SISSIES!!! We continue to fly the Aussie flag and to cover our beautiful skin with Nivea Visage products as the wind on the back of the game rangers vehicle is so harsh and hot like a fan forced oven!! Cheers for now to all. Diana
