Next time you fancy a little wine tasting weekend action, don't follow the crowd by staying smack bang in the middle of Pokolbin (it's ever so common!).  Instead, stay in Mount View, one of the hidden gems of the NSW Wine Country.

It's raised elevation means that you can see the fantastic scenery of the valley's and watch the hot air balloons drifting over the vineyards.  You can also sample some of the great wines from the smaller family-owned wineries such as Petersons, Briar Ridge, Mount View and Tallavera.  Don't forget to try some of the local produce as well - don't even think of leaving without trying the marinated fetta!

1. Get bikes delivered to your hotel and ride around the vineyards in the Mount View and lower Pokolbin wineries.
2. Climb Mount View in the morning to see either the sunrise or the mist collecting in the Hunter Valleys.

Hodomania (n.) - Completely made up word derived from 'Hodophobia', the fear of travel.

I just hate that phase when you get back from holidays and travel encompasses every single one of your thoughts.

I've emulated George Costanza from Seinfeld and done a mental run through the list of extremely limited and unrealistic jobs that I could do (??) which involve non-stop international travel and minimal labour hours.

It has been brochure madness for me with no less than 5 glossy photo-filled pamphlets sent to my home, not to mention perusing almost every page of the Lonely Planet Countries Book.  I've talked non-stop about group trips, Christmas, safaris, festivals, weekends away and other such jaunts to anyone who would listen.  I am already mentally booked on at least four different trips. It's insane!

I've finally taken it to the final step of travel insanity today and already emailed my travel agent.  Just to find out if he has any good Christmas ideas.  It's been a week and half since I returned from my trip - this is definitely some sort of record, even for me!

I was expecting to wear slightly more conservative clothing in Sri Lanka but it's all getting a little ridiculous now!
